Pit theater; Obafemi Awolowo University welcomed over 700 fashion lovers to the African Urban Fashion Show on Friday evening; September 30, 2016 and it was a splendor. Vibrant Compere Timi Agbaje alongside the graceful Ikepo Dipo-Shodipo hosted the evening which celebrated contemporary African talents in fashion, style and arts.

Elegantly dressed attendees met at the cocktail lounge with not just a few chatters and laughs which was hosted by Wene and Ms. Kofo.

The 3 hour production kicked off at 9:00 P.M with a soulful fashion rendition by Jummy Jules followed by a model line-up. Cuzzie outfit Empire inspired the audience with his fashion forward capsule pieces; the African Urban Fashion Show also featured an eccentric African themed fashion display by Shakira; creative director of TBS couture and Miz Right Fashion house who featured her ‘Adire Print Collection’ designed in contemporary styles and left impulsive buyers ready to splurge.

“if she had a P.O.S, I’d just buy out her collection right now, these are just too enthralling”. –Wande (attendee).

Other equally amazing designers of the evening included Fab On Clothes (FOC), Yoolabold, Resonance clothing, Vinkay, Oge’s fashion, Reals Fashion and Uje’s clothing who opened the showcase with his famed ‘extremely casual’ collection.

Hair styling was done by Topzel (Tope Omoge) and make up artistry was provided by Glamourville, Deo makeovers, Persy makeovers, Wumi Idowu and Cyan looks headed by Sarah Ajagbe. D.J Oshea kicked off the after party with Afrocentric tunes.

Notable attendees included Nele from Germany, Ashake, Tunde TNT & Moradeun, Timi of TSN with Martin Styles and many more.
